Learn to make leather soles to make your moccasins last longer.

This tutorial will show you step by step how to make your soles keeping the soft-soled quality of your moccasins and making them stronger.

They can be made with leather or thin rubber crepe and can be replaced as many times as needed over time.

With good care including regular leather treatment and resoling, one pair of moccasins can last for years if not decades.

It is difficult to say exactly how often you will need to resole your moccasins because of the many factors (type of ground, intensity of usage, leather type, weight of the person, feet balance, ect.) but it is common for someone that would use them on a daily basis outdoors that they would need to resole their moccasins 1 to 4 times a year.

Time needed : 15 - 45 min.

Note: This technique does NOT include stitching, but includes the use of universal contact cement glue that you can commonly find in any hardware shop. Contact cement glue is resistant to water and stays flexible. It is recommended to use it in a very well-ventilated room (open-windows) or outdoors.
